Castle Fashion 1 - The Gentleman of the Castle

 Creating a sunlight effect outdoors with the Magnum Reflector and the Profoto B1X.

The first picture out of 6, shooting a male model outside of the Castle, combining natural light with flash and actually replicating the sunlight using the B1x combined with the Magnum reflector.

Andrea talks about how you can play with the zoom function of the light shaping tool you’re using, how the change of distance of your light will change the look and feel of your picture, the difference of hard and soft lighting, a little bit about how he uses Capture One Pro and how he creates pictures that pretty much don’t require any retouching.

Creating a hard light with a wide and even light spread outdoors and being willing to add to your lighting to bring out more details.

For this shot we’re using two female models in the garden, outside of the Castle. The style of this picture is inspired by the 60s and 70s era. The weather was beautiful and we had a lot of fun combining natural, available light with flash and working with a big, really awesome team.

Andrea talks about how he often adds spontaneous elements such as a second light or a flower during a shoot, why he chose the Wide Zoom Reflector as his main light shaping tool for this specific shot and he shares some easy tips and tricks on how you can play with light to get the look and feel you want to create.

Shooting at the castle of Casalborgone, without expectations and fixed points of view of how the shoot should turn out and seeing how a beauty shot turned into a full-length shot. The fifth picture of the day. Shot with three models on a balcony of the Castle, style inspired by the glamorous 20s. The models are playing different characters and what’s really amazing with this picture is that it’s actually the very first one taken during this shoot, it was just a light test!

Andrea talks about how anything can be a contribution to your picture if you let it and don’t judge it. In this specific picture for example, a bored stylist in the background!

Capturing a dramatic fashion shot with a taste of the Renaissance.

The sixth and last picture of the day, shot in the cellar of the Castle, lit with one TeleZoom Reflector to get a really dramatic look. Andrea talks about how the TeleZoom Reflector is different from the other Reflectors and why he chose it for this specific shot.

Styling, makeup and hair follows the dramatic vibe and short of “proper” tools, the hair was actually created very spontaneous by the hair stylist using plastic cups from the location trailer!
